About the design
The first gallery photo is cut into twenty jigsaw pieces, all in place but one, left beside the board, slightly turned, with a shadow. The guest drags it home — it straightens as it nears the slot, clicks in, a light sweeps the picture, the seams dissolve and the puzzle becomes a print with the names written under it. Then the line the whole opening was for: “Only one piece is still missing: you.” The whole picture stays as the page's cover, with the names set in Cormorant Garamond over it and Plus Jakarta Sans on the text. Below, warm paper and cards that each wear one small jigsaw knob on their top edge — the only motif the opening leaves on the page. A coral accent, with plum and olive as variants.
Which events it suits
It works wherever one photograph says everything: the couple at a wedding, the child at a christening, both of them at a wedding and christening on the same day — which is why it is filed here, with a separate demo gallery for christenings. At an anniversary or an eighteenth, the celebrant's photo is the centrepiece, and “one piece is missing” holds for anyone who has to come.
