About the design
On sage paper the portrait sits in a medallion ringed by exactly eighteen watercolour eucalyptus leaves, tied at the foot by a bow of two gilded ones, with “18” in gold leaf beneath. As it opens the years count from 00 to 18 and a leaf grows for each. Names are in spaced Cormorant Garamond capitals, the title in the thin Ms Madi hand, the figures in Bodoni Moda. The countdown lights the leaves of four dials, and the album is a growth ruler where a marker reads the age.
Coming of Age
Which events it suits
It is made for a coming of age: the story of eighteen years, from the first photo to the night of the party, with an “Access 18+” wristband for every guest who replies. Childhood photos climb the ruler by the age written in their captions, and without them the medallion carries the initials. Sand and Night change the paper and the ink; the leaves and the gold stay.
