About the design
The age is written in tall DM Serif Display digits, each a window for a photo: a childhood one in the first, one of today in the last. In the margins, “then” and “now” are noted by hand with their years. The name is written across the digits in Ms Madi, the text set in Cormorant Garamond on warm paper, with a pink disc behind and flakes of gold foil. The photos are black and white; “In colour” keeps them in colour and “Sage” changes the disc. As it opens, the outlines draw themselves, the photos develop and confetti rains.

Milestone celebration · Coming of Age
Which events it suits
It is drawn for an eighteenth, with “18” made of photographs and the story from the first year to today. For a birthday it draws whatever age you write, from 5 to 100, the same story with one person at its heart. The first photos fill the digits and the rest go to the album; without photos the digits stay paper.
