Botanical Plate
About the design
The first page is a herbarium plate set slightly askew: a bouquet of watercolour wild roses and verbena with its stems tied with string and taped down, your polaroid, a specimen label typed in Courier Prime with the day, the hour and the place, the name in Ephesis and a stamp with the age. The notes are handwritten in Caveat. As it opens the flowers are pressed, the tape holds them, the label types itself line by line and the stamp strikes. Below, a seed packet counts the days; Green herbarium and Blue ink change the paper and the ink.

Milestone celebration · Coming of Age
Which events it suits
It is drawn for a coming of age: eighteen flowers, one for every year, and your story from 0 to 18 told by the album's photos and their captions. For a birthday you write the age you are turning and the herbarium counts up to it. One name on the plate, first-person words, and an answer that presses every guest in as a specimen.
