Hydrangea Crown

About the design

A crown of peach, powder-pink and white hydrangeas runs across the top, painted in watercolour on the guest's phone, with sage leaves and sprigs of gold leaf. On opening the flowers swell from the middle outwards, the foil is stamped and a gleam sweeps it, and the names gather from wide spacing. Then the large photograph, the date and place split by a fine rule, the day hour by hour, the crown mirrored at the end. EB Garamond and Jost set every line; the palettes change the flowers: blue, lilac with rose gold, white with sage, autumn.

The invitation, screen by screen: the opening, the middle and the end.

Which events it suits

It is made for weddings and civil ceremonies, where white paper and gold sit well beside a short programme or a long one. For a wedding with a christening the family photograph settles naturally under the crown, and for a christening the blue palette or the white and sage one gives the gentle page a child suits, with one name in place of two.
