About the design
Entry is through the window. The pane is fogged; a finger wipes it clear, droplets run down each trail, and once the glass is clear the date writes itself and the sashes open into warm light. Beyond is a café on a rainy evening: Fraunces sets the headings, Karla the text, Caveat the handwriting on the napkin. The colours are indoor: cream, wet-evening blue-grey, lamp terracotta, with sage and dusk as alternatives. The schedule is served as a menu card, two polaroids hang on the wall by their table, and the reply form opens only after the counter bell rings.
Which events it suits
At a wedding the café is where it all started, and the counter bell turns replying into a gesture rather than a form. At an anniversary the same room carries the whole party: the menu card becomes the evening's programme, and the polaroid wall fills with whatever has accumulated since. The napkin story arrives already written, and can be rewritten line by line in the editor.
