Turning Hydrangea
About the design
A hydrangea takes its colour from the soil it grows in, and here every flower blooms blue and slowly blushes to peach, the couple's colour. The layout is editorial: the words on the left, the photograph in a petal-shaped frame on the right with a large hydrangea in its corner, and a fine line down the page's edge passing from one colour to the other. The day's programme changes colour as it goes, and the guest's own flower stays blue until they say yes. The palettes are pairs: from white, from lilac or from green.

Which events it suits
The story of a colour taken from your loved ones suits a wedding and a couple's anniversary. For a wedding with a christening and for a christening the sentence about colour speaks of the child, and the green-to-white palette avoids blue and pink for anyone who wants to step away from a baby's usual colours.
